This summer, Newlands is set to become the ultimate holiday destination as Cape Town gears up for a series of blockbuster cricket fixtures, starting with the Opening Match on 26 December and running through January 2026, Cape {town} Etc reports.
But this isn’t just about cricket; fans can expect a full-scale lifestyle festival blending sport, culture, and family-friendly entertainment.
Local performers will bring colour and rhythm to the stadium concourse, giving visitors a taste of Cape Town’s vibrant spirit.
Children get early access three hours before each match, with the chance to play on the field during the first hour, as well as enjoy activities like stilt walking, balloon art, and face painting.
The festive atmosphere will be boosted with giveaways and surprise activations, including merchandise drops and pop-up experiences throughout the stadium.
