Their crimes include sexual offences, murder, robbery and possession of unlicensed firearms dating between 2003 and 2019, with five related to unsolved murders. One of them is a woman wanted for a murder in Hermanus in June 2017.
National Police Commissioner General Fannie Masemola says Interpol SA holds 48 pending extradition cases.
‘These include amongst others two brothers, Siyabonga Ndimane and Malusi Ndimane who are currently in Eswatini and are wanted in South Africa in connection with the AKA and Tebello murder case.’
‘Pending extradition matters also involve the case of Michael Lomas, a former Eskom contract worker who is wanted in connection with a R745-million fraud and corruption case at Eskom’s Kusile power facility,’ he told IOL.
‘We also have the Black Axe eight swindlers who are wanted in the USA for fraud, they are still in custody and are awaiting to be extradited (…) to the USA.’
These are the most wanted criminals in the Western Cape:
Niel Fortuin: possession of an unlicensed firearm in Atlantis dating back to February 2003:
Chinewemwe Kambayi: wanted for a murder in May 2016 in Delft:
Xolani Ndlela: wanted for sexual assault in Knysna, which took place in October 2017:
Kudakwashe Nogona: wanted for a robbery in Grassy Park in November 2018:
Sipho Xolwa: wanted for a rape case in November 2018 in Atlantis:
Xolisile Damane: suspect in a murder in December 2016 in Khayelitsha:
Thulani Bezana: wanted for pointing a firearm in May 2015 in Hout Bay:
Sikhonathi Ndyavuthwa: wanted for a murder which took place in September 2019 in Kwanonqaba, Mossel Bay:
Prince Fayo: wanted by Delft Police for a murder in July 2019:

‘I hope that this will lead to successful case dockets and thorough investigation and capturing of information, so we as civil society can be clear on how deeply rooted the [suspects’] involvement in crime is,’ says Lynn Phillips of the Cape Town Safety Forum.
‘We also share our dismay as this was supposed to be the core function of crime intelligence, which is seriously an indication of Saps for failure to execute their mandate.’
‘So we welcome this initiative but we don’t just want profiling, we want positive outcomes and this will result in repeat offenders not doing the same crime again. Police should now target hardened criminals who run amok in our communities and are ruthless killers and gunslingers.’
Five people also remain on Interpol’s red list, namely:
- Dean Dylan Taljaard (Durban): wanted for murder
- Kichor Naidoo (Cape Town): wanted for attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, and money laundering
- Mbuso Ncaza Nkosi (Soweto): wanted for murder
- Wilson Dan Nkosi (Mpumalanga): wanted for contravention of the Game Theft Act
- Bhekumusa Mawillis Shiba (Eswatini): wanted for contravention of the Game Theft Act
At 72-years-old, Wilson Dan Nkosi remains the oldest wanted person in South Africa.
