According to police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg, the accident took place on Klipfontein Road on Wednesday morning.
While Twigg confirmed that no visible injuries or deaths were reported, City of Cape Town Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson Quinton Leon reported that ‘one adult male, nine female minors and five male minors were transported by ambulance to hospital’.

Chairperson of the Manenberg Community Policing Forum Vernon Visagie told IOL that some of the 15 minors were on their way to school when the collision occurred.
While it is unclear what led up to the crash, Twigg said the circumstances surrounding the reckless and negligent driving case are under investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
This comes just over a week after a speeding cement truck wreaked havoc on Kloof Nek Road last Thursday after the truck driver lost control, slammed into a queue of parked vehicles and a building wall and injured at least seven people.
Video footage of the collision subsequently went viral on social media platforms and one of the four victims who were admitted to hospitals for serious and mild injuries remains in critical condition.
Both incidents have once again raised concerns about road safety protocols, overloaded scholar transport vehicles and the consequences of vehicular negligence around the city.
In 2023, talks of a formal governing body to represent all scholar transport drivers in the Western Cape were sparked by a tragic accident in Mitchells Plain that claimed the lives of five schoolchildren, with two more, aged six and 15 transported to hospital.
Just over a year ago, Cape Town central police registered a reckless and negligent driving case after a truck lost control on Kloof Nek Road and crashed into five cars before overturning, subsequently injuring six people.
