A 20-year-old man named Allie Vollenhoven died after sustaining a gunshot wound to his neck on Sunday 20 November, in an alleged confrontation on Chiappini Street in Bo-Kaap.
Another man was injured during the altercation, sustaining gunshot wounds to his arm and buttocks. He was taken to the hospital by paramedics, but his current health status has not yet been confirmed.

According to Independent Online, the incident occurred at approximately 9:50 pm on Chiappini Street in Bo-Kaap and is thought to have been the result of rising tensions in the neighbourhood for the previous two weeks.
When the paramedics arrived on the scene, Vollenhoven was said to still be alive, but not long after, he was pronounced deceased.
IOL reported that the motive for the attack is yet to be established, and arrests of the unknown suspects are yet to be made.
Vollenhoven attended Schotsche Kloof Primary School and Vista High School, both located in Bo-Kaap.
Residents of Bo-Kaap told IOL that Allie has since moved to Mitchells Plain, but his family still resides in Bo-Kaap.
