A 70-year-old man was arrested last week for allegedly driving over a six-year-old boy and fracturing both his legs, Cape {town} Etc reports.

According to Western Cape police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Malcolm Pojie, the man has been charged with attempted murder and reckless and negligent driving.
The incident allegedly occurred on Friday.
Pojie said the young boy and his mother were walking along Station Road in Lutzville around 12pm when a vehicle pulling a trailer drove straight towards them, hitting the boy.
The boy was rushed to Vredendal Hospital and later transferred to the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital in Cape Town.
Billy Claasen, the executive director of the Rural and Farmworkers Development Organisation, told News24 the boy had allegedly stolen oranges from an orchard on a nearby farm.
The driver is due in the Lutzville Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
