With the holidays quickly approaching, it is time to start looking for flights and accommodation. Bounce, a travel agency, analysed data from the 75 most popular destinations in the globe to decide which city break would be the most affordable, Cape {town} Etc reports.

Cape Town finished in seventh position, tied with Shanghai, China. The data was gathered by looking at the cost of hotel rooms per night on Friday and Saturday, meal prices at low-cost restaurants, the cost of a draft beer and bottle of wine, and the cost of transportation, specifically one-way tickets and metered taxis per kilometre.

According to the findings, the most expensive component would be lodging, with South Africa behind only Buenos Aires at approximately R6 182.
According to the report, a lunch at an affordable restaurant costs around R200.
Statistics South Africa produced research this year that indicated Cape Town witnessed cost-of-living rises in 2018 and 2019, whereas Johannesburg had the lowest increases in the previous ten years.
