An alleged Cape Town gang leader from Bonteheuwel was shot and killed on Saturday, September 4. 38-year-old Ryan “Swaggy” Swartz who is believed to be the leader of the Dixie Boys gang died after he was shot in the right shoulder.
According to Bonteheuwel ward councillor Angus Mckenzie, he has met with Law Enforcement Agencies and briefed them on the need to step up patrols in the area to ensure that no stone is left unturned in arresting the culprits.
“It is extremely critical that those who witnessed this murder will provide the necessary information and that the investigating officers and SAPS not just handle the matter discreetly, but ensure that the perpetrators are not released to maintain peace in the area,” Mckenzie said.
Mckenzie indicated to Cape {town} Etc that the threat of retaliation through shooting is extremely high at this point and that residents are requested to be extremely vigilant and cautious.
Meanwhile, in an unrelated incident, four men have been shot and killed in Wellington in the Boland, News 24 reported. Police spokesperson, Novela Potelwa, says no arrest has been made yet, however, preliminary investigations suggest that an unknown number of gunmen wearing balaclava’s went into the backyard dwelling and opened fire.
