Angus Buchan, a well-known Evangelist, will lead a special church service in Cape Town on Sunday, October 18 as a way to thank God for the rain the region has received during winter.

The dams supplying the Cape Metro have filled past capacity as a result of the bountiful winter rains. Just two years previously, the largest dam supplying the region, the Theewaterskloof Dam, was dry as a bone, and the threat of Day Zero – the day that Cape Town’s taps were predicted to run dry – was imminent.

Buchan’s livestream will be aired on TruthTV, and those who prefer to listen in can tune into Radio Tygerberg 104fm.

Western Cape Premier Alan Winde is also expected to make a speech during the event, as well as Cape Town’s Executive Mayor Dan Plato.

In February of 2018, Buchan implored Cape Town’s residents to repent as he was disturbed by the increase in violent crimes such as murder and rape. According to the Evangelist, rain would come once everyone repented.
