A woman was kidnapped just outside Nioro Plastics in Blackheath/Kuils River on Thursday. Two shots were allegedly fired.
CCTV footage, dated 2022-09-29, shows Anichka Penev (35) – a Ukrainian national – being forced out of a yellow Audi R8 after being sandwiched between two getaway vehicles.
A source, who gets plastic container bottles from the store for their own business, confirmed the identity of the victim, who is the wife of Simeon Penev, the owner of Nioro Plastics.

“Just passed it now. So scary. Drivers windscreen is shattered as if there was some shooting,” one social media user commented.
The news comes after multiple kidnapping incidents of business owners in the Cape this year.
Last month, footage of a Mitchells Plain store owner being kidnapped went viral. 37-year-old Akter Pradhan’s vehicle was pushed off the road before he was forced into the back of a car by the assailants.

The Cape Town police are investigating the circumstances around the incident and have opened cases of kidnapping and attempted murder.
