The City of Cape Town’s Water and Sanitation Directorate has announced that planned work from 19 to 21 November will result in water supply disruptions in certain areas, Cape {town} Etc reports.
Residents in the affected areas are encouraged to take note of the maintenance that will take place and to prepare accordingly, according to a press statement issued by the City.

Maintenance work will include pipe and valve installations, and repairs and replacements residents being advised to store enough water in advance, as a precautionary measure.
The affected areas include: Radloff Park, Golden Acre, Roundhay, Natures Valley, Morningside, Land En Zeezicht, Lionviham and Parel Vallei in Somerset West. The water supply to these areas will be shut off from 10am until 4pm on Tuesday, 19 November, which would allow the maintenance team to install a pressure-reducing valve on the water supply main to these areas.
In Westridge in Somerset West, water supply will be shut off from 9pm on Tuesday, 19 November, overnight until 4:30am on Wednesday, 20 November.
In Hout Bay, the water supply from Disa River Road to Park Avenue will be shut off from 9am on Wednesday, 20 November, until 5pm on Thursday, 21 November. This will allow the maintenance team the opportunity to install an air valve and a fire hydrant and replace defective isolation valves at the intersection of Bethal Road and Valley Road. In addition, water tankers will be placed at certain strategic locations in the area.
Zero-pressure tests (ZPT) and conditional assessments will be conducted on the water supply network in the areas of Claremont, Rondebosch and Kenilworth on Tuesday, 19 November, from 10am until 4pm and Thursday, 21 November, from 10am until 4pm.
These procedures will also be conducted in the areas of De Tijger, Avondale, Fairfield Estate, Oostersee, Parow North, Plattekloof, Belvedere and Bel’Aire in Somerset West on Thursday, 21 November, from 10am until 4pm.
