Firefighters from the Belhar Fire Station helped deliver a baby on the morning of Tuesday, November 24.

According to JP Smith, the crew found the mother stuck on the roof of the house while she was in labour. She was forced to make her way across the roof as it was reportedly the only way to make her way out of the residence’s yard.

“Staff clamped and cut the baby’s umbilical cord and monitored his vitals until the rescue vehicle arrived from Epping Fire Station. Firefighters also assisted the mom and baby from the roof,” he said. “At 5.32am, the mom and baby were transported to hospital.”
