The body of an unidentified male was found next to Liesbeek River on Wednesday, July 3 2019, and police have launched an investigation into the matter.

According to SAPS spokesperson Siyabulela Malo, the man’s body was found around 8am. The man had suffered injuries to his chest and face, and a report from Maitland Police Station states that his wounds were caused by an assault.

“A case of murder has been open for investigation,” Malo told IOL.
