The body of an unidentified male was found lying along the R300 north ramp at the Stellenbosch arterial off-ramp on Friday morning, reports Cape {town} Etc.

According to reports, the ramp was subsequently closed as Delft police and emergency services attended to the crime scene near Roosendal Delft in the direction of Bellville at around 5am.

Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi confirmed that the unidentified man sustained a fatal gunshot wound to his stomach.
‘The victim was declared deceased on the scene by the medical personnel. The unknown suspect/s fled the scene, and they are yet to be arrested,’ said Swartbooi.
‘The motive for this attack is now the subject of an investigation by the South African Police Service.’
Swartbooi added that Delft police registered a murder for further investigation.
‘Anyone who can shed light on the circumstances surrounding this incident is kindly requested to call Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or alternatively use the MySAPS app anonymously,’ he concluded.
While traffic was initially backed up to Hindle Road, the ramp has been re-opened, and motorists can expect no delays.
