The search for missing Cape Town artist Megan Anderson, also known as Lexi, has made significant progress following a public tip-off, Cape {town} Etc reports.
Anderson (26) was last seen on 28 December leaving her grandmother’s home in Fish Hoek. Her family, along with National Crime Assist (NCA), had launched an urgent appeal for information.
A breakthrough came earlier this week when a member of the public shared a photo showing Anderson walking in Cape Town’s Central Business District (CBD), near a tattoo parlour.
According to NCA spokesperson Sally Steyn, Anderson was seen on 8 January at around 2:30pm walking along Long Street towards Foreshore, accompanied by a Nigerian man.
‘She was seen near the Slanghouse Tattoo parlour, wearing a black beanie, denim jacket, dark clothing, and black sneakers with white soles,’ Steyn reported. ‘Her companion is described as a Nigerian male, wearing a red beanie and large wrap-around sunglasses.’
Anderson’s uncle, Kenneth Anderson, who is based in the UK, has appealed for her safe return.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about her whereabouts or wellbeing to contact National Crime Assist immediately at 082 578 4363.
