An evening of protest action has caused chaos on roads across the Cape and a number of roads have been closed to ensure the safety of motorists.
The City of Cape Town’s Fire and Rescue Services reported to Govan Mbeki road, Phillipi this morning to find a Golden Arrow bus alight as well as a truck.
“The bus fire has been extinguished and the fire crews are proceeding under SAPS and Metro Police escort to the truck alight,” City spokesperson Jermain Carelse said.
Stock Road between Rochester and Govan Mbeki is currently temporarily closed as a result, and drivers are urged to use alternative routes.
