Shock and despair has hit a Cape Town community after the body of a 16-year-old girl was found at a dumping ground on Sunday, 13 March.
The lifeless body of Zintle Tsawe was discovered in Browns Farm, Philippi. The motive for the attack and actual cause of death remains unknown, IOL reports.
“An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death. Nyanga police are investigating a murder case. Anyone with information is requested to call Crime stop on 08600 10111,” Western Cape police spokesperson Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi said.
The unknown suspect/s fled the scene and are yet to be arrested.
Meanwhile, police have initiated the 72-hour activation plan in search of yet-to-be identified gunmen who killed five people in the Endlovini informal settlement in Khayelitsha on Monday morning, 14 March.
Reports indicate that unknown gunmen approached shacks located at the Monwabisi Park informal settlement in Endlovini, Khayelitsha in the early hours of this morning and fired shots. A woman and four men were killed.
Organised crime detectives are investigating the murders. The victims, who are yet to be identified are estimated to be between the ages of 25 and 35.
