A 45-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly dealing drugs following a major bust linked to Delft and Bellville, Cape {town} Etc reports.
According to the South African Police Service (SAPS), members attached to Operation Prosper made the arrest on Monday, 20 April, during stop-and-search operations in Buczane Street in the N2 Gateway area of Delft.
Police stopped and searched a silver Honda Civic, where they discovered ten Mandrax tablets and an undisclosed amount of cash believed to be proceeds of crime.


Further investigation led officers to a storage facility in Stikland, Bellville, where a significantly larger cache of drugs was uncovered.
At the facility, police found 46 packs containing 1 000 Mandrax tablets each, amounting to a total of 46 000 tablets with an estimated street value of R2.76 million.
The suspect was subsequently arrested and is expected to appear in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court.
Authorities said the operation dealt a blow to the distribution of drugs in local communities, as law enforcement continues efforts to curb drug-related crime across the province.
