The Mother City has officially been crowned the best city in the world, as far as food is concerned, Cape {town} Etc reports.
Cape Town competed with the likes of Rome, Milan and Tokyo and proudly claimed the number one spot.
Readers were invited to vote in the 2024 Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards where travelers ranked the Mother City as the top destination when it comes to flavour, taste, texture and all of the above.
Cape Town Tourism has described Cape Town’s food scene as a ‘feast for the senses’ and ‘melting pot where unique flavours harmonise.’
Cape Town scored a whopping 95.65 while Milan took second place, with a final score of 95.20. Valencia, Spain claimed the third spot, scoring a clean 95.
The Mayoral Committee Member (MMC) for Economic Growth, James Vos, commented that ‘Cape Town’s recognition as one of the world’s best cities for food by Conde Nast is a testament to our goal of driving a thriving visitor economy through unforgettable culinary experiences.’
