The provisional Formula E Season 11 calendar, set to be the biggest yet, has been announced. However, the series will not include Cape Town again.

The upcoming season will start in December 2024 and run until late July 2025, featuring several locations that will host two races on the same weekend. This includes Saudi Arabia, Japan and Monaco.
Diriyah in Saudi Arabia and Miami will host their season 11 races in new locations, of which the latter will be hosted at the Homestead-Miami Speedway, a regular home to Nascar and the NTT Indycar Series.
March features one unaccounted-for slot, around the same time the event was held in South Africa.
Last year, Western Cape minister for finance and economic opportunities, Mireille Wenger, said the event generated R2.13 billion directly and indirectly in the first year, including R481 million in global destination exposure.
‘The benefits of this event, and many like it, go beyond a once-off economic boost. The Formula E will be hosted in Cape Town for the next 10 years and will also provide a perfect platform to boost sport tourism to the province,’ she added.

Doubleapex reached out to Iain Banner, the chairman of e-movement. ‘With the cost to stage the 2025 Formula E Grand Prix having risen to €15 million (R300 million), the race has simply become unaffordable for Cape Town,’ he said.
‘With the significant economic impact that it delivers for South Africa, we are hopeful that the national Departments of Sport, Tourism and Environmental Affairs will see fit to co-fund the race so that it can become an ongoing occupant of the annual Formula E global calendar.’
The Gen3 Evo racecar will also debut at Formula E Season 11. It is the quickest-accelerating single-seater FIA racecar, with a 0-100 sprint time of 1.82 seconds, and it features all-wheel-drive, which will be available during qualifying duels, race starts and attack mode stints.
