Residents of Cape Town can expect to hear the pitter-patter of rain soon, as it is predicted that cool showers will wash over the Mother City on several days this the week.

According to the SA Weather Service, Capetonians can expect rain to fall on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

On Thursday, May 21, temperatures will range between 12°C and 22°C.  The Weather Service predicts a ‘slight rainfall’ for this day, with moderate winds.

On Saturday, May 23, Cape residents can prepare for temperatures ranging between a minimum of 11°C and a maximum of 20°C. An estimated 5mm of rain is expected to make landfall on Saturday.

On Sunday, May 24, 60% precipitation is expected to fall. This may be accompanied by moderate winds and maximum temperatures of 19°C.

Today [May 18], Cape Town’s dams have an average reading of 53.6%. This is one percent lower than last week’s reading of 54.6%.
