Cape Town’s Anti-Gang Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a triple murder that claimed the lives of three men, believed to be in their thirties and forties, in Grassy Park on Sunday evening, reports Cape {town} Etc.
According to police spokesperson Colonel Andrè Traut, a fourth victim also sustained injuries but declined medical assistance.
‘The victims were sitting outside a residence in Kiewiet Way, Parkwood, at approximately 7:50pm when unknown suspects opened fire on them from a white vehicle,’ said Traut.
‘The suspects fled the scene immediately after the shooting. A fourth victim, aged 24, sustained injuries but declined medical assistance from emergency services at the scene.’
As the investigation unfolds, SAPS is urging anyone with information that could assist in the investigation to contact Crime Stop anonymously at 18600 10111.
The incident comes soon after the Western Cape Police announced that it’s stepping up its efforts to combat the escalating gang violence riddling numerous communities across the Cape Flats.
