Capetonians are advised to prepare as hot to very hot and uncomfortable conditions are expected to sweep across the province on Tuesday, 30 September, reports Cape {town} Etc.
As per the South African Weather Service, temperatures are forecasted to reach high 20s and early 30s, with strong north-westerly winds in places over the eastern parts of the following on Wednesday.
The weather service also added that ‘extremely high fire danger conditions’ are to be expected over the western parts of the Northern Cape and Western Cape.
‘Should the forecast hold, it can present significant health and environmental impacts,’ said the City’s Disaster Risk Management Centre (DRMC), adding that the public is advised to take heed of the forecast, and to take the necessary precautions to mitigate any potential impacts.
‘The DRMC will monitor the situation and coordinate any responses required, along with other City departments and external partners. We also remind the public to call the City’s Emergency Communication Centre on 021 480 7700 in the event of any threat to life or property.’
