A family from Bishop Lavis has been left devastated after their two-year-old son was shot five times on Saturday, 26 February.
According to reports, the young Caydon Jeffries was caught in an alleged gang crossfire while playing outside his home in Paulsberg Road. Jeffries was shot five times and is currently in a stable condition at Groote Schuur Hospital, as per IOL.

Police spokesperson Joseph Swartbooi confirmed the incident indicating that upon police arrival, officers were informed that the boy has been rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment as a result of a gunshot wound.
According to Swartbooi, no arrests have been made yet as police are continuing to investigate a case of attempted murder.
Meanwhile, in an unrelated incident, Manenberg police have arrested a 35-year-old man on a charge of possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition after he allegedly pointed a firearm at a complainant who made contact with the police. Once charged, the suspect is expected to appear in the Athlone Court on the mentioned charges.
