Cape Town is basking in the glow of recognition as it clinches three Silver Awards at the prestigious International Tourism Film Festival Africa 2025 (ITFFA), Cape {town} Etc reports.
This accomplishment underscores the City’s ability to weave captivating narratives that not only celebrate its stunning landscapes and diverse culture but also highlight the unique experiences that Cape Town has to offer.
The accolades were made possible through a creative collaboration between Cape Town Tourism (CTT) and Sledgehammer Studio, a renowned production company that brought its vision of Cape Town to life through a cinematic lens.
‘Our storytelling approach, combined with cinematic flair, forms the core of Cape Town’s tourism appeal,’ said Enver Duminy, CEO of Cape Town Tourism.
‘These awards aren’t just shiny trophies on display; they reflect how we see Cape Town layered, lively, and full of love. Each video is essentially a postcard to the world, inviting everyone to experience our magic for themselves.’
The winning entries include:
- Pass the Love with DHL Stormers and Love Cape Town: This is a heartwarming showcase of rugby, community spirit, and local pride.
- Wonder2Wonder: A visually stunning exploration of Cape Town’s magical contrasts and surprising moments, created in partnership with Visit Victoria Falls.
- Limitless Cape Town: A high-energy montage that illustrates Cape Town as a premier adventure destination where memorable experiences are boundless.
Mayco for Economic Growth, Alderman James Vos, emphasised the broader impact of these awards on the city’s economy.
‘When our stories travel, so do travellers, and that means jobs, investment, and opportunity for Capetonians. These awards are proof that marketing Cape Town with heart and creativity works.
