On Saturday, Capetonians were reacting to the news of Helen Zille directing traffic outside her Gardens residence, which is now also the home of Oranjezicht City Farm Market.

In a simple case of ‘taking matters into one’s own hands’, Helen marched to the centre of the congestion and proceeded to assume the role of a traffic officer. Visitors to the market were absolutely delighted to see their beloved politician making light work of a nasty congestion at the bottom of her drive. Read more about it here.

Beer lovers, look away right now – the SAB depot in Bellville went up in flames yesterday. Officials say that the blaze engulfed plastic and trucks at the depot, with no mention of exactly how much beer was tainted. Maybe it’s for the best we don’t know. Read more here.
