The City of Cape Town’s Water and Sanitation Directorate will conduct planned water supply maintenance from 25 to 28 August, Cape {town} Etc reports.

The maintenance work will include pipe and valve installations, repairs and replacements. Residents are advised to store enough water in advance as a precautionary measure.

The planned maintenance work will result in water supply disruption in the following areas:
Part of Brackenfell Industria
The water supply to Brass Street, Nickel Street, Ferrous Street and Industria Street in Brackenfell Industria will be shut off from 8am to 8pm on Sunday, 25 August.
Affected consumers are requested to store enough water in clean sealed containers in advance.
Constantia and Tokai including Steenberg Golf Estate
The 535mm diameter water main opposite the Greenbelt in Lower Constantia will be shut off from 7:30pm on Tuesday, 27 August overnight until 4:30am on Wednesday, 28 August.
Affected residents in this area are also advised to store water in clean sealed containers in advance.
Furthermore, zero-pressure tests (ZPT) and conditional assessments will be done on the water supply network in the following areas:
Wednesday, 28 August, from 9am until 5pm:
Oakdene, Old Nooiensfontein, New Nooiensfontein, Sarepta, Danarand and Rietvlei in Kuils River.
As per the City, zero-pressure testing and step-testing form part of the zone management infrastructure installation process. Tests are done in advance to determine if there are any unmapped inflows that need to be considered before installing new infrastructure (such as pressure-reducing valves for pressure management).
Residents might experience low water pressure or no water for some time during the testing period.
In addition, the City will conduct zone management investigations to ensure that existing infrastructure is operating effectively. As a result of this, residents may pressure fluctuations.
