The George Magistrates’ Court has postponed the bail application for Gert ‘Johnny’ Bezuidenhout and Johan ‘Jakes’ Jacobs, accused in the murder of underworld figure Mark Lifman, to 16 and 17 January, Cape {town} Etc reports.
The delay was due to the unavailability of a senior advocate representing the two men. The court also revealed that Bezuidenhout and Jacobs are not being held at George Correctional Centre but at another undisclosed prison for safety reasons, as reported by Netwerk24.
Several of Lifman’s acquaintances and associates, including Jerome ‘Donkie’ Booysen, André Naudé, and Joel Booysen, attended the hearing, expressing their presence as a show of support for their ‘friend.’
After the proceedings, the Booysens and Naudé visited the Garden Route Mall parking lot, the site of Lifman’s fatal shooting on 3 November. The group placed bunches of Protea flowers at the spot where he was killed, according to IOL.
