A planned community strike is underway in Witsand, with roads in and around the area completely closed off.
The protest, which was confirmed during a meeting at the Resource Centre early this morning, is set to continue from 7am until 3pm.
Motorists are advised to avoid the affected routes, including Old Mamre Road (R304) and John Dreyer Street, as no entry will be allowed into Atlantis from the N7 side.
Law enforcement has already blocked off Tree Road, where residents have reportedly set tyres alight.
Taxi services to and from Witsand have been suspended for the duration of the strike.
Commuters and drivers are urged to take alternative routes and remain vigilant.
