A beloved collectables promotion run by grocery retailer Checkers is back in action from today, 25 July 2022.
The hugely popular Little Shop allows customers to build their own mini-Checkers store with its shrunken products. Expect to see mini versions of your favourite brands like NESCAFÉ Gold, Baby Soft, Huggies, Tastic, Lindt, FutureLife, and Simple Truth, as reported by Business Insider.
The promotion is exclusively available to Checkers’ Xtra Savings members, so join the loyalty programme to start your mini collection. For every R200 spent at Checkers, Checkers Hyper, its new format Checkers Foods, and grocery shops done on the Sixty60 delivery app, Xtra Savings members will receive a Little Shop mini collectable item.
There are 24 mini items to collect, including a brand-new addition: customers can now also collect a bright teal mini collectable Sixty60 delivery bike, the popular bike behind the retailer’s successful delivery service.
Checkers is known for its hugely successful collectable promotions; the retailer previously ran several iterations of its Little Shops campaign, as well as another popular campaign that encouraged customers to build their own mini herb gardens with collectable seed pods.
Checkers’ new Little Shop is also in line with the retailer’s environmental awareness and sustainability. The new collectables are made from 100% recycled plastics, such as discarded fridges, water bottles, goggles, and FSC-approved, responsibly sourced cardboard and paper. The collector’s case is both locally made and 100% recyclable.
Around 38 000 recycled refrigerators, 166 000 pairs of recycled goggles and 210 000 PET bottles were used to create the latest mini items. The retailer also added that 3 800 old refrigerators can be turned into 798 000 mini-Simple Truth raw honey jars, a single pair of old swimming goggles could make around 10 mini aQuelle bottled waters, and a 500ml PET bottle can be used to make six mini Energizers or 10 mini Oh My Goodness! Spaghetti Bolognaise ready meals.
Also included in the campaign is the chance to win a share of R100 000 in prizes, when customers swipe their loyalty card while purchasing a product from participating brands.
