While the country battles with a pandemic of epic proportions, China is proving that it can rise to the occasion by building a brand new hospital from scratch in just 10 days.

The speedy construction took a team of 7000 specialists, plumbers, electricians and carpenters who worked from morning through the evening to build the Huoshenshan Hospital.

Construction began on January 23, 2020 and was completed on Sunday. The new state-of-the-art facility has already started treating patients for coronavirus and has 1400 staff members.

Wuhan, the city where the coronavirus was first detected, has been on lockdown since construction first began on the hospital and as of Tuesday, February 4, the total death toll of the virus reached 420 and approximately 20 438 confirmed infected people so far.
