The City of Cape Town (COCT) has announced that there will be power outages in various areas between November 15 and 21 due to maintenance work. According to the COCT, electricity substations will be upgraded between 8 in the morning and 4 in the afternoon.
The main affected areas include Rocklands in Mitchells Plan, Constantia, Claremont and Newlands. The COCT said that the much-needed maintenance will also affect parts of Maitland, Kraaifontein and Somerset West.
The city has appealed to consumers to switch off appliances at wall sockets ahead of maintenance to reduce the risk of damage caused by a power surge.
