The City of Cape Town has stated that an R1 million reward has been awarded to an unnamed person/s who gave critical information that resulted in the arrest of suspects in the murder of City employee Wendy Kloppers, Cape {town} Etc reports.

One of the accused is affiliated to the Firm, which is led by Ralph Stanfield, the reputed 28s gang boss.
Last week, the City of Cape Town notified the Weekend Argus that they could not say anything more about the payment.
Sharazaadht Essop and Warren-Lee Dennis face murder charges in connection with Kloppers’ killing.

Essop is also charged with two attempted murders and unlawful possession of a handgun.
Earlier this year, Kloppers’ husband Raelton was shocked to learn that two suspects were linked to the underworld when they joined alleged gang boss Ralph Stanfield and his wife Nicole Johnson in a case involving Wendy’s murder, a police officer’s hit, and the shooting of a Kraaifontein gang leader. The case has been pushed back to 13 September.
Last week, News24 reported that Stanfield and his suspected associate Jonathan Cloete were charged with the murder of Hard Livings gang boss Rashied Staggie.
Staggie was fatally murdered on London Road in Salt River on December 13, 2019.
People Against Gangsterism and Drugs shot and burned Rashaad on the same street in 1996.
The break in Rashied’s murder was revealed by prosecutor Frank van Heerden when Stanfield and Cloete appeared in the Cape Town Magistrates’ Court via an online Teams link from their respective prisons, along with 12 other accused.
That case started in September as a result of a dispute over stolen cash and an attempted murder, but has since ballooned to cover allegations of murder and attempted murder, the destruction of documents, as well as a firearms case.
The murder charges relate to the deaths of Kloppers, alleged 27s gang leader William ‘Red’ Stevens, policeman Faizal Adams, and the attempted murder of Joel Booysen, son of alleged 26’s boss Jerome Booysen.
The court heard that the State was also joining the case of Malusi Booi, a former member of the City of Cape Town’s mayoral committee for housing.

Booi appeared in court with nine people on Wednesday, charged with R850 million in tender fraud, money laundering, and corruption, which reportedly included business takeover.
Booi and the other nine are expected to appear after this case on Friday for the construction-related matter, where their bail application is still under way.
