As of today [April 22] the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in South Africa is 3 635, with an increase of 170 cases in the last 24 hours.

The total number of tests conducted to date is 133 774, of which 6 868 were conducted in the last 24 hours.

Unfortunately seven more COVID-19 related deaths have been confirmed, with five of them occurring in the Western Cape and two in KwaZulu-Natal. It remains unconfirmed if any of the patients had underlying health issues.

The total number of deaths is now at 65. Our condolences go out to the affected families and our appreciation is extended to the health workers who treated these patients.
