Two local companies are coming together to make a difference in the lives of those who are struggling to make ends meet amid the coronavirus lockdown.

HomeHeroes and Yebo Fresh first came together to feed the Hout Bay United Football Club (HBUFC) community. A small programme first started with Jeremy, who owns and runs HomeHeroes and the HBUFC community alongside Yebo Fresh. The initiative was highly successful and within 48 hours, the teams were able to raise R100 000 and pack 300 food packs.

Following the success of the programme, they have decided to extend it to help those in need in informal settlements like Imizamo Yethu and Hangberg.

However, to achieve their dream of helping more people, the teams at Yebo Fresh and HomeHeroes need the support of the Cape Town community.

Residents can support by sponsoring a special two-week food package for a family of four with delivery included for R425. This can be done through the link here. Sponsors can choose to support a specific household of their choice or to support the HBUFC. If you’re not sure who to help, you can leave the beneficiary area open and the Hout Bay CAN network will prioritise your package to go towards those in need.

You can view all the items that will be sent to your beneficiary in the link above. Payments can be made via EFT.

All products are sourced directly from the manufacturers and packed by the Yebo Fresh team at their warehouse. Packs are then distributed by HomeHeroes and HBUFC.

Both Yebo Fresh and HomeHeroes are registered essential service providers and operate within the highest possible quality and hygiene standards.

“We aim to ensure that our food packs are distributed evenly amongst our whole Hout Bay community. Our goal is 100% provenance for every pack we receive,” said HomeHeroes on their Facebook page.

How can you help?
– Sponsor a food pack (or maybe several..?) following the steps above
– Spread this story far and wide so these amazing teams can raise enough funds to make a massive impact
– Let HomeHeroes and Yebo Fresh know if you have any idea on how to help more people
