As South Africa battles through the coronavirus pandemic, more and more people are using incorrect channels to request assistance during emergencies and putting themselves in further danger.

The team at 911 Response24 has decided to offer residents a convenient and easy service for getting assistance.

Now South Africans can be easily connected with the correct emergency services via a smartphone app that ensures the sharing of correct official information.

Since its creation, a few features have been added to the 911 Response24 app including a “Medical Support SA button”. They have also launched a free version based on the app’s premium version with the same functionality.

The “Medical Support SA Button” is a direct link to the company’s National Operations Centre (NOC) where agents assist in screening and directing calls to the correct COVID-19 facility or information sources.

This new service is currently available to all South Africans and can be downloaded via the Apple or Google Play stores.

The 911 Response24 NOC offers direct access to official information including testing centres, government support centres, ER24 and hospitals.

Marlize Holtzhausen, the founder and CEO of 911 Response24 says, “We desperately want to help our country through this crisis. Every life matters and we hope to make a difference to every person in South Africa.”
