Recent COVID-19 numbers show that a further 6590 new cases have been recorded in South Africa, which has pushed the total number of confirmed COVID cases to a whopping 2 546 762.
The latest report also indicates that a further 189 deaths have been recorded in the last 24 hours, as per ENCA.
The Health Department has confirmed the number of new cases, with the Western Cape appearing to have the highest new cases with nearly 1 900 recorded in the past 24 hours.
According to IOL, the National Department of Health has indicated that these new cases are lower than the previous day, August 10, with numbers lower than the average number of new cases per day stretching over the seven preceding days.
However, South Africa’s recovery rate stands at a firm 91.1%, and a total of 8 621 932 individuals have been vaccinated.
