Substitutions for the 2021 Cape Town Cycle Tour can only be done at the number collection which takes place from the 7-9 October at the Cape Town Stadium. The announcement comes as the Cape Town Cycle Tour doesn’t allow late entries. However, you can legally take over another rider’s number.
For the Cape Town Cycle Tour participants taking over someone else’s entry, the Cycle Tour asks that you please ensure you have a signed letter of consent from the withdrawing rider. This letter must include the withdrawing riders’ names and ID numbers with the cost of substitution which is R200.
Registration for the #ctcylcetour2021 will take place from 7-9 Oct at the Cape Town Stadium.
Thursday, 7 Oct, 9:30am – 7pm
Friday, 8 Oct, 9am – 7pm
Saturday, 9 Oct, 9am – 4pm

Please note:
- The entrant withdrawing will not be refunded his/her entry fee.
- The entrant withdrawing may ask for the substitute entrant to refund their entry fee but they may not ask for more than they originally paid. The entry fee for the 2021 Cape Town Cycle Tour was R595.
- The substitute participant will be issued a new number in the start group for which he/she qualifies.
- Should the substitute participant not have their own RaceTec chip, they will be required to purchase one.
- Entrants may NOT allow anyone else to use the number allocated to them. If you do so, the participant will be disqualified and the entrant will be suspended from participating in future events.
- The race number is the organiser’s link to all the relevant contact details and information should you be involved in an accident. It’s therefore vital that the information and person is matched correctly
- Merchandise orders and chip purchases are not transferable.
Meanwhile, the event will have also have the additional challenge of COVID-19 protocols aimed at mitigating risks for all involved as all participants will need to be fully vaccinated or undergo a Rapid Antigen Test, which must return a negative result before they can register for the 2021 Cape Town Cycle Tour.
