The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) said it is investigating a case of rape involving a 31-year police constable stationed at the Nyanga SAPS.
According to IPID spokesperson Grace Langa, police arrested a male victim on Thursday, December 2 at a Jet store in Junction Mall where security suspected that he wanted to steal clothing.
According to Langa, police then transported him to Brown’s farm satellite office where police passengers got out and the driver drove with him to Nyanga police station and picked up a female officer who was then dropped off at Crossroads. He then drove with the victim to a gravel road to the bushes near the airport.

“He stopped and opened the door, told the victim to kneel while he’s still in the police vehicle handcuffed from the back. He put a gun against the victim’s stomach and pulled down the victims pants and started playing with his private parts while playing a porn video from the phone.
“He then turned him around and penetrated the victim and when he was done he drove with him to his address in Khayelitsha where he removed his police uniform and later took the victim home to Gugulethu,” Langa explained.
Langa said the victim who was never detained then contacted his cousin who is a police officer and requested him to come to his house, where he told him about the incident. Langa added that the officer was then arrested and is set to appear in court on Tuesday, December 7.
