Update, 3pm:
Locals reported that Marine and Coastal Management was on sight around 8am this morning to deal with the incident.
The whale was identified as Tango Bravo and is said to be the 46th confirmed multi-day feeder in western False Bay this winter/spring.
Reportedly, Tango Bravo had been in the area for approximately 1 week, measures 8.7m and appears to be a male.
Social media users have taken to various platforms, requesting disclosure regarding why the whale passed. No official statement has been made, as of yet.
Earlier today, 8 November 2024, another dead humpback whale was spotted in Simon’s Town Harbour, Cape {town} Etc reports.

The lifeless whale was found floating on top of a cable restorer wreckage in the harbour.
Marine and Coastal management has been notified of the situation.
