This morning [April 29], yet another truck was attacked and looted as it made its way down the N2. It is believed that the same suspects who attacked the truck also looted it.

Police have yet to confirm whether anyone has been arrested in connection with the incident, but there are officers on scene to calm the situation.

Looting, and looting-related incidents across the province are becoming a more frequent occurrence. Looters struck at Elsies River liquor store on Saturday, April 25. When they discovered that the liquor store was empty, it was torched.

In a statement, South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson Brigadier Novela Potelwa said a case of arson has been opened.
