A fast-moving fire broke out in District Six on Sunday after a patch of dry grass was ignited on an open field.
According to witnesses, on Facebook, a small section of grass was accidentally set alight by one of the individuals living on the field, but strong winds quickly fuelled the flames, causing the blaze to spread at speed across the dry terrain.
No injuries have been reported at this stage.
