Blood stocks for groups A+, O+ and O- are critically low in the Western Cape. The Western Cape Blood Service is now calling on the public to kindly donate to their nearest local donor centres.
“A single blood donation can mean the universe to somebody. It only takes 30 minutes of your time and you can save up to three lives with one donation”, says Marike Gevers.
According to the WCBS, if you are between the ages of 16 and 75, weigh 50kg or more, are in good health, and lead a safe sexual lifestyle, you should be able to donate.
So spring into action and donate blood for the month of September, with a seedling pot available to donors. Each donor will either receive a tomato, basil, forget-me-not or baby’s-breath seedling pot, reports Good Things Guy.
All new donors stand a chance to win double tickets to a SANParks venue in the Western Cape.
