The Springboks’ world-class lock traded his boots for a suit to bring gifts and hugs. Eben Etzebeth surprised Langebaan foster children by dressing as Santa on Christmas Day, bringing gifts, hugs and wide smiles to a West Coast safehouse, reports Cape {town} Etc.

According to The Citizen, he arrived at about 09:30 and spent time with the children. The visit included photo ops, signed shirts and warm festive embraces.

The For the children safehouse shared a moving message on their Facebook page. Staff wrote that the children felt shock and joy when they realised Santa was Etzebeth.
They called it one of the most special days in the children’s lives and said some called it their ‘best Christmas ever’. The post thanked Eben, his family and the community for making the day possible.

Volunteers helped organise the gifts and photos. Etzebeth’s presence lifted spirits and drew quiet gratitude from carers who try to make family life feel normal for children away from their biological families.

The visit shows how a simple act can change a day for a child.
