According to News24, the EFF has issued a warning to factories and small businesses as they are susceptible to looting during the protest and are advised to remain closed for the day.
The political party has been mobilising other opposition parties, unions and citizens via various means to join the planned mass protest.
Sinawo Thambo, an EFF spokesperson, said the party had travelled door to door, handed out pamphlets, and mobilised on the back of bakkies throughout the country to effectively gather people for the national shutdown.
Today, EFF Western Cape announced that it will be “delivering the national shutdown letters to PRASA, the Premier of the Western Cape, the Executive Mayor of Cape Town, Golden Acre, and the V&A Waterfront” ahead of time.
