A chilling discovery in Bellville South has led to a murder investigation after the body of a 79-year-old woman was found at her residence on David Street, Cape {town} Etc reports.
Police confirmed the incident took place on the evening of 19 March 2026 at around 9pm, where the elderly woman was discovered decapitated inside her home.
The circumstances surrounding the killing remain unclear at this stage, with authorities still working to establish what led to the brutal attack, while the motive is also being investigated.
A 63-year-old woman has been taken into custody in connection with the case and is set to appear in the Bellville Magistrates Court on Monday, 23 March 2026.
SAPS confirmed that investigations are ongoing as officials continue to piece together the details of the incident.
