An aircraft made an emergency landing at Cape Town International Airport this morning after reporting technical issues mid-flight, prompting a full-scale emergency response, Cape {town}Etc reports..
Despite the serious nature of the incident, airport authorities confirmed the plane landed safely and no injuries were reported among passengers or crew.
According to reports, the aircraft was experiencing issues with its ‘left engine failing,’ prompting the declaration of an emergency.
In response to the developing situation, airport authorities activated their emergency protocols. Ground services were alerted and emergency services were enroute, on standby to handle any potential scenario upon landing. Travelers were advised to expect delays in and around CT int Airport as operations were adjusted to prioritise the incoming aircraft.
The incident caused temporary disruptions to the airport’s schedule as ground crews worked to clear the aircraft and normal operations resumed.
