The planned maintenance work will affect homeowners in Rocklands and Mitchells Plain from 9am to 4pm.
As previously indicated, the City of Cape Town’s energy generating and distribution department will execute crucial electricity maintenance.
The municipality stated that the seven-hour interruption is an estimate, and that restoration may be delayed due to the complexity of the infrastructure maintenance. However, its staff will work as swiftly as possible to accomplish the task within the timeframe specified.

- Portion of Rocklands, Mitchells Plain, including the area off Spine Road along Weltevreden Road
- Gladiator Road and surrounds
- Sunderland Street and surrounds
- Caravelle Road and surrounds
- Kitty Hawk and Marauder and surrounds, among others
The City of Cape Town stated that electricity could be restored at any time, and that users should treat all electrical installations as live for the duration of the outage.
‘Residents are encouraged to switch off appliances as a precaution and to avoid damage caused by power surges when the power comes back on,’ the metro said.

However, if electricity is not restored within the timeframes specified, homeowners have been advised to monitor the municipality’s official communication channels, including social media outlets. Alternatively, they can contact the call centre before submitting a service request for the planned repair work.
