Don’t be alarmed, you aren’t the only one. This evening, March 19, thousands of social media users were left twiddling their thumbs when Instagram, Facebook, and Whatsapp stopped working.
According to The Sun, 20 000 Instagram users and over 9000 WhatsApp users were left with nothing but reality and a server error message just after 5.20pm. Approximately 77% of Instagram users complained of not being able to access their news feeds.
As well as this, 71% of WhatsApp users couldn’t get a connection, while 26% were unable to send or receive messages.
To top is all off, around 5000 Facebook users complained of having no access to messenger.
All three apps, owned by Facebook, experienced glitches today. Nearly a million people across the world reported problems with Instagram.
“Earlier today, a technical issue caused people to have trouble accessing some Facebook service. We resolved this issue for everyone, and we apologise for any inconvenience,” said a spokesperson from Facebook.
Thanks for your patience, that was a long 45 minutes but we are back! #WhatsAppDown
