A family in Hermanus was shot on their way to work in Hermanus Monday morning.
The 35-year-old woman, identified as Dorianne Lock, died on the scene while her 10-year-old daughter and the 40-year-old father were injured, as per News24.
Police spokesperson Frederick van Wyk said a case of murder and two of attempted murder were opened for investigation.
“According to reports, the family was on their way to work in their vehicle when [an] unknown gunman fired shots at them. The 35-year- old woman was shot and fatally wounded. The 40-year-old father and 10-year-old daughter were also shot and injured – they received treatment,” he stated.
No arrests have been made yet, but authorities are considering the possibility that the shooting might have been ordered from within a prison in Caledon.
