Two alleged abalone poachers were rescued by a female lifeguard, after being swept into a dangerous current, in Table View over the weekend, Cape {town} Etc reports.

The images, which had initially been shared on social media platforms, showcased the woman single-handedly rescuing the two poachers near Big Bay.
The alleged poachers, as well as their diving gear, were then safely pulled to the shore.
The woman was eventually revealed to be a lifeguard at the Big Bay Lifesaving Club.
Videos highlighting the heroism of the lifeguard also circulated on social media.
Sergeant Wesley Twigg commented that the Table View department had responded to a complaint concerning alleged poachers who had been struggling in the water. The divers are reported to have launched into the water near Hout Bay on Saturday, 28 September, when the trouble ensued.
The two drivers dropped their equipment and the current swept them to the Table View area where they were eventually rescued.
Sergeant Twigg further confirmed that no criminal case or investigation has been opened as of yet.
